Price Range: Price Category E

In this charming double ad the infant is pushing away his wet nurse while attempting to fight over a steaming cup of Carpentier chocolate with both the cat and house dog. In the right hand side image he has grown up (one would assume thanks to his diet of chocolate) to become an exuberant young man well deserving the Health First Prize! Both cat and dog are still fond of the Carpentier products although they have also matured in the process!

Done in 1892 this ad was definitely breaking away from the route taken by more subdued poster designers. This fierce looking ranchero attempting to tame his wild stallion must have been quite a hit at the time. All this to promote the Masson Mexican chocolate!

An interesting art deco ad for Collas chocolate. Note the use of the cathedral pillars as supports for the double ‘l’ of Collas ! Definitely ‘innovator’ as mentioned at the bottom of the poster.
